Description:

Wingspan male: 22-29 mm Female: 25-30 mm.

Habitat:

Distribution: Savanna, Afromontane. Riverine and lowland forest, grassland.

Nielen I would have to say it's got to be a Babault's Blue, the pattern is clear note the verticle strip at the front of the wing, although another reference says that the "Only really distinguishable from other members of the Common Blue group by genital dissection" does this mean then that there is a version of this butterfly in our area? maybe you snapped a picture of it as proof.

Leptotes pirithous pirithous or Leptotes babaulti? this is my problem, the Common Blue (L.pirithous) appears to be in my area but the Babaulti's Blue (L. babaulti) does not but the pattern on the babault's blue are more similar to my picture. Any advice?
