Description:

on my way out, someone said "do you know this is neither plant, or animal", just for fun i asked "oh wow what is it?!", she said "it's a stationary animal!" - that was so amazing to hear.. indeed, fungus make vitamin D like animals do, so nothing more befitting

Habitat:

appear in large patches on wood, could be found next to a stream

Notes:

"capable of producing bioluminescence in its mycelium"
