Field Notes

Description:

Males and females are similar in appearance with the pointed crest, black face, red and white patch over ear that is bordered with black. Black down both sides of the neck. White throat and underside and brown back. Medium length bill that curves down at the end. Red vent . Immature birds are more brown and than black.

Habitat:

Spotted in tall trees, many types and flowering or fruiting trees.
