Description:

The crested gecko, a super popular lizard in the pet trade. This is mine nestled in a hideaway of croton petra. Crested geckos are also known as eyelash geckos, and are native to New Caledonia. They were believed to be extinct until they were rediscovered in the 90s. Turns out that we were looking in the wrong places, literally they were found on an entirely different island in the archipelago. Crested geckos are Vulnerable by to IUCN.
