Description:

•They eat fish, small amphibians, arthropods and small reptiles.
•They are very noisy kingfishers.
•They nest in horizontal tunnels in river banks or sand banks.

Habitat:

rivers, lakes, mangroves, sea, heavily wooded areas
-I saw this kingfisher in Angra dos Reis (RJ, Brazil)
