Description:

These mating beetles are completely black and white and do not have the usual yellow or orange and brown of the Colorado Potato Beetle. These were found on native weeds and not in a vegetable patch. Family Chrysomelidae.

Habitat:

Semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.

Notes:

L. undecimlineata is found in Central America and southern Mexico and is of the aboriginal home of the Leptinotarsus beetles. This species can also have a yellow thorax.
