Field Notes

Description:

Smallish moth. Wings appear to have longitudinal crease marks. mostly white with tiny blackish specks and two dark smudges on the sides; one smudge on back of head. Pointed snout a little like the nose cone of an aircraft (thinner though)

Habitat:

Suntaley khola is a remote village in West Bengal, India with the River Moorti flowing by it. It is a forested area; lots of trees and wild vegetation growing profusely. There is only one narrow motorable road that ends by the river. The moths are drawn to the porch light and alight on the walls near the light. These can often be seen sitting there the next morning.

Notes:

First photo cropped.
