Description:

Deciduous tree. Hardwood. Growing as large as 100 feet or talller.

Habitat:

The American Sycamore is native to the eastern and central United States, occurring in all states east of the great plains except for Minnesota, and also in the mountains of northeastern Mexico.

Notes:

This young tree was spotted on the pond trail at Monticello.
