Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful little Fruit Fly about 5 mm long. It was literally standing on its head at a 90º angle from the wall. I thought something was wrong with it, but when I touched it, it flew away. Family Tephritidae. Maybe a species of the genus Anastrepha (http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20p?see=I_CAM8387).

Habitat:

Came to the lights on a wall, Hotel Posada Loma, Fortin de Las Flores, Veracruz.
