Digging Snake

This snake was found in the Dairy Farm rainforest in Singapore. It is about 15-20 cm long, and about 1.5 cm wide. It can sometimes be mistaken by a blue coral snake, except this one has a lighter head color, it doesn't have a blue abdomen and it is extremely harmless to humans as its mouth is too small to bite. It has a bright orange head, with a dark blue body that reflects a variety of colors in the sunlight. This snake is most identified for its digging skills. It looks for its food in leaf litters and in the soil. It's tail is very hard and solid, made to dig in easily to the ground. It's skin, unlike usual snakes, are also smooth and dry, not slimy or waxy. The weather in Singapore might have caused this.
