Field Notes

Description:

An edible, low bush berry. Very hardy. Found on Little Jackson Mountain in Maine alongside blueberry bushes at around 3,000ft.

Habitat:

Native to boreal forest and Arctic tundra throughout Northern Hemisphere.

Notes:

Eat raw fruit mashed with sugar, or make into jam, syrup or juice.
