Description:
This is an infant howler monkey that was able to get around on his own for the short haul, but got on mom's back when a big move was involved. He was trying to mimic the adults and eat leaves.
Habitat:
Howlers live in the canopies of lowland and montane forests up to an elevation of about 2500 m. from southern Mexico to northwestern South America
Notes:
This was taken from the terrace of our house on the edge of the jungle. The bottom of the trees are below the house so we are halfway up the canopy. These photos were taken about 15 m. from the monkeys.
