At Molokini Crater, Maui, the Pyramid Butterfyfish are typically seen on scuba in the range of 20 to 80 feet, and usually directly below the dive boats. On Lana'i Island, I have seen Pyramind Butterflyfish on snorkel in the upwelling of the current at Shark Fin Rock.
I have still never seen one of these. Looks from the photo that you have to go down quite deep to see them?
