Field Notes

Description:

Long antennae. Body totally covered by translucent pale green wings.

Habitat:

Floor of the resort at Borong, Sikkkim. Remote area. Hilly.Lots of wild plants and tall trees. Nice garden too,

Notes:

Wikipedia says:
When attempts were made to introduce the species into New Zealand and India, the lacewings failed to become established, perhaps because of the absence of certain yeast symbionts necessary to their development which were absent from their new environments.

And apparently, according to (Journal of Natural History
Vol. 44, Nos. 41–42, November 2010) the lacewing most important in Indian agricultural crops is Chrysoperla sillemi which is a subspecies of C. zastrowi.
