Amanita sp.
Amanita sp
46.2532, 6.07484
Field Notes
Description:
I'm a bit confused about this one - looks both like a Blusher (edible Amanita rubescens) and a False blusher or Panther cap (Amanita pantherina). Unless it is another totally unrelated species - I'm glad I'm not collecting these for my kitchen... As I did not touch it, can't say if the flesh changes color, which would be an indication... Some 10 cm tall, with white stipe some 10 cm across; the cap hemispheric, only starting to open. Brown surface with brown warts.
Habitat:
Growing alone, in a shadow of coniferous tree, almost in a meadow of a town park, consisting of a wooded area and a central meadow. The town is in rural area between Geneva lake and Jura mountains.
