Field Notes

Description:

Large crow. All black plumage. Robust beak. Quite glossy but you cannot see it in these pics.

Habitat:

This is a rare visitor and I was surprised to see it sleeping perched on a wire running near my terrace. It was 6.30 in the morning and dawn had not broken so the photograph is a not a good one. But given that I am not going out on walks to greet my avian friends, it is nice of them to come and wish me a Good morning.

Notes:

These birds are (normally) not scavengers and only rarely, very rarely have I seen them hang out with House crows ...but yes, they do....
