Field Notes

Habitat:

This Geranium Plume Moth was spotted on long grass, in our backyard

Notes:

Pterophoridae; Pterophorinae; Sphenarches anisodactylus (Walker, 1864). This moth, like all other Plume moths, that I have seen, seems to rest by clinging to a leaf or twig by its first two pairs of legs, with the hindlegs and the abdomen hanging down. The Geranium Plume Moth shown here, appears to be a gravid female. Confirmation of its presence in the Philippines is provided by Philippine Lepidoptera and also byhttps://www.gbif.org/species/119585678.....
