Field Notes

Habitat:

A small low-lying town by the side of a river and surrounded by sal forests.

Notes:

I spotted this butterfly trying to escape from inside a hotel glass gate at a small town called Jorethang in South Sikkim, which is situated across Rangeet River separating Darjeeling District tea estates (West Bengal) and Sikkim.

How about Burara harisa harisa Dr. This has same coloration right down to the 2 little black dots
Thanks Jellis. This one looks very much like the one in the ref. But still confused among Orange Awlet, Branded Orange Awlet; Bibasis jaina jaina, B. oedipodea athena, Burara harisa consobrina . . . .Pl help.

definitely looks like a Awlet species. Almost like the Orange Awlet (Burara harisa consobrina) with the abdomen like a Pale Green Awlet Burara gomata
