Field Notes

Description:

An American bullfrog, or just bullfrog. This may actually be two specimens, the first picture was taken and the frog quickly swam away. After waiting a bit, the second picture was taken after another (or the same) frog poked his head back up. I thought it was kind of cool to have discovered the bullfrog splayed out on the water like that, it gives you a good indicator of its size.

Habitat:

This frog is native to southern and eastern parts of the United States and Canada, but has been widely introduced across other parts of North, Central and South America, Western Europe, and parts of Asia, and in some areas is regarded as an invasive species.
