Description:

We are having a delightful warm spell and the Honeybees are visiting to sip the sweet stuff in dropped apples and sawdust (from a Sugar Maple). Size: 1/2 to 1 1/4 inches long. Slender, hairy bee; tawny overall, with some black. Usually seen on flowers, but most have past.

Habitat:

hollow trees, man-made hives.
