Description:

A mushroom with scaly maroon colored cap fading to creamy white towards the edges. maximum diameter of the cap is about 1.25 inches.

Habitat:

It grows on moist rotting coconut trunk.

Species ID Suggestions

I would say Pholiota sp., Mark. I say this because these mushrooms grow directly on the wood and because of the scaly cap. The Armillaria species don't have that many scales. But on the other hand, I'm not that familiar with the Asian mushrooms.
