Field Notes

Notes:

Mama Great Horned Owl sitting tightly on her nest - about 4 days into incubation! It pays to chat it up with the locals...especially when they let you on their property and let you take pictures of such a sweet face!! Only took a few - didn't want to overstay my welcome! Male pics will be posted next!!

Thanks, Emily...It was a magpie nest, so that's probably who brought all the fuzz. Ashley, we're going to become really good friends...I just know it!! Thanks! And thank you, Ajwerko!!
:) I hope they let you know when little owlets are up and about and let you take their pictures! I want to see owlets so bad, I'm going to go check my owl spot this week sometime and look for their nest! Such a sweet face on this girl!
Look at all that fuzz in the next! Very cool encounter indeed!
