Description:

Purple cap and gills also look purple but I didn't want to pull up this pretty loner; white flesh seen through damage to cap; stalk has some purple blushing

Habitat:

Wooded lot in suburban area; very near a fallen and decaying tree

Sounds like the right color for the Amethyst Deceiver spore print.
Spore print was rusty colored. Went back and got a piece of the cap...
Well... the first thing that pops up in my mind, judging by color and size, is the Amethyst Deceiver - Laccaria Amethystina.
