Description:

Velvety-looking larva of some sort. It had a white head and red mouth parts. I found it near a decomposing earthworm

Habitat:

I found it under a wooden board in my vegetable garden. Suburban yard next to a dried-up, forested swamp

OK.. now I'm going to have to learn about soldier beetles. I know about soldier FLIES.... but not beetles. Hmm.
