Field Notes

Description:

Mottled moth with a bald patch on head...it remained in this pose for a very long time. No idea if dead or alive.

Habitat:

Borong, Sikkim. A remote and hilly area, full of butterflies moths and birds.

Notes:

We got used to seeing dying moths thrash around at dawn and ants carry away carcasses of moths...birds pounce on them and the area near any electrical light littered with wings...so pretty and so sad to see the wings lying in the grass or on the cemented walkways.
