This looks like a very young mushroom and at this tage it might not have so much "milk". But the shape, color adds up to the description of a Lactarius. In addition, the hollow stem is a good sign. In some of the very old specimen of Lactarius Deterrimus (the False Saffron Milkcap) that I found there was no latex. These mushrooms, in the eraly stages of development, look exactly like the Saffron Milkcap. With age they have more green stains than the Saffron Milkcap. Here are the links to the both species description: - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactarius_deterrimus - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactarius_deliciosus
I can see that! But I didn't see any latex when I cut it...does that matter?
This is a Lactarius sp. It looks like Lactarius Deliciosus, but there are other species of Lactarius that have the same color.
