This could possibly be another species of the genus Manduca since it is from South America. The spots and overall coloration look completely different from M. sexta.
Its a Manduca sp. Moth. Looks very much like Manduca sexta (if they have the Carolina Sphinx Moth down there. According to the bugguide info page it is in your range.
