Field Notes

Description:

Largest of the Godwits and the most widespread. A noisy, aggressive, and conspicuous nester, it breeds in the wet meadows of the northern prairies. In late summer it heads for its wintering grounds along the seashore, where it is found on tidal flats in sheltered bays, next to inlets and on open beaches.

Notes:

I saw this Marbled Godwit while driving down the beach, he posed nicely for me!
