Field Notes

Description:

Sparrow-sized, or slightly larger; boldly black-and-white streaked head and that rich cinnamon-coloured underparts are this bird key features helping its ID. This could easily be a juvenile or sub-adult, judging by that diffuse streaking on chests. Sexes alike.

Habitat:

Seen in rather greener settings, in open woodland and pastures, somewhere at outskirts of Kunene region, while driving to it. Otherwise, this a rather common sub-Saharan bird, present in many habitats - except the desert and equatorial forest.
