Found in butterfly trap yesterday at around 15:00
Have failed to ID it?!
Habitat is dense forest.
Around 40mm wingspan

I am just an amateur...I usually go by http://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/ but it does not seem to have an entry for Many-tufted bushbrown. I'll say hang on a bit...someone on PN will definitely give you the right name. Good luck.

Yes I got some, will put the pictures up shortly! Also I've done some digging into this, and I think this butterfly might be too small to be the evening brown, as the one I've just caught that is identical to yours was much bigger. I've seen this butterfly the 'Many-Tufted Bushbrown' and it looks similar to this but I don't know if I'm just going a bit butterfly crazy so could do with your opinion? Amazing! It's funny as I have just come back from checking the butterfly traps and found another that looks exactly like the one in your picture!

I was pretty surprised myself when I saw one with such huge eyespots...take a look at my spotting...looks a lot like yours: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1086916002

Is it really? Thank you! I haven't worked with the dry season form yet, and had no idea of the huge eyespots on the upperside either! Perfect :)
