Description:

Medium sized bird with long legs and a downward curving beak

Habitat:

this is a city park/flood basin when it rains.... 3 years ago a flock of these visited this field for about a month or two then disappeared not to be seen again til today

California central valley Manteca.... even tho noah says Nevada

phredshome, did you see this today as your spotting suggests, or earlier this year? It's important to differentiate between the date you took the picture, and the date you posted it. If you saw it today, it's migrating through your region, but if you saw it earlier in the summer, it was hanging out.
