Field Notes

Description:

Very small olive gray bird with white wingbar over black. White eyering with more in front and back of the eye. Thin short dark bill and a red patch on crown that is hidden most of the time. Raises usually when territorial and in breeding.

Habitat:

I see them mostly in oaks but can be found in some bushes and other species of trees.
