Description:

I'm not very comfortable with African amphibians, but this one looked like some pics I managed to find - for now I'll keep as the African common toad. This toad is known under many names, e.g. square-marked toad, Egyptian toad, African bouncing toad or Reuss's toad; and is sturdy toad with a warty skin, about 7cm from snout-to-vent length. The dorsal surface is dark olive-brown with dark patches on the back, arranged almost symmetrically, with a paler band along the spine.

Habitat:

Seen in semi-urban environment of rural part of central Nigeria; plains with lush green vegetation with some shrubs, and lot of cultivated fields; close to waterways and lake.

Notes:

Provided that my ID is correct, this would be the first apparition of this species on NOAH...
