Field Notes

Description:

Large showy butterfly. Beige, black , white a touch of red and blue.

Habitat:

In Shyakhola a semi-urban semi-rural type of area, near a bamboo thicket where there was a huge tract of fallow land. It ran me a merry chase and when I was almost exhausted came and settled on this bush...from flower to flower, yes but one bush. Such a relief to finally click.

Notes:

Called Ruru in Bangla.
