Description:
Coenosia tigrina is a predatory fly that eats other flies. A thick-bodied fly with gray and brown colors and sparse bristled hairs. 5.75 mm to 7 mm.
Habitat:
Spotted in a clover patch next to the forest edge.
Notes:
Native to Europe. Introduced in the early 1800s. Found in northeastern and western United States and adjacent Canada. -- BugGuide.
