Field Notes

Description:

Mountain flax herbaceous perennial, and woody at the base. It produces bunches of erect but recumbent slender stems, with modest leaves. The branched stems produce bunches of pale blue five-petaled flowers with darker blue veins, about 2.5 cm in diameter.

Habitat:

Found on uncleared edges of agricultural fields, in an area of mixed use: plenty of fields, some protected wetlands and some protected woods, all located in Geneva lake valley, French side.
