Field Notes

Description:

Long tailed wren, slightly larger then other wrens in the area. Easy to ID by the tail, long bill and light colored line over the eye. Their call is a lot louder for a bird it's size. Mostly brown in color with lighter colored throat. Some I've seen have no light colored throat. Noticed behavior as nosey. When it hears something nearby it pops out to investigate, sometimes dances around on branches of bushes or trees before ducking back out of sight.

Habitat:

Prefers bushes or tall ground cover and brambles to hide in. May find mostly not far from water.
