Field Notes

Description:

Two individuals, slightly different in appearance. One has longer elytra, and the coloration of the pronotum is slightly different. Are they the same species, perhaps male and female? One individual has serious deformation or injury to one elytra and wing.

Are these soldier beetles, family Cantharidae?

Thanks very much Anne Marie. Have a nice day.
I would also say Cantharidae.
Interesting! They look like Soldier Beetles to me, but I am not an expert.
