Field Notes

Notes:

Last week I traveled to Lac du der in the nord of France, to photograph the migration of the common crane. When I got out off my car at the west end of the lake I saw a white flash in the corner of my eye. Nearby stood a pile of wood and I knew I just seen something jump between the wood. Patiently I sat down with my camera against a tree with perfect view of the woodpile. And yes, after fifteen minutes there was a white snout showing itself. Got it! But this was only the beginning. A beautiful white hermelijntje came out of the pile of wood and then went hunting ....
