Common Tern nest

I was fortunate to be able to help a friend for a day in a tern monitoring project on a small island with thousands of Common Terns and hundreds of Roseate Terns. The nests are on the ground, with most of them hidden by grasses, but some like this use the shells are camouflage for the eggs.
