Pond in small park

Notes:

I have chosen this Pacific Loon as my 1,300th spotting! It is one of the rarest birds I have ever seen. I found this small loon at a little park in Glendale, AZ. This is the first one that has been seen in Maricopa county for several years! My friend Caleb Strand immediately left to see it after finding out about my sighting on eBird. I am glad to say that he did find it and was able to add yet another county lifer to his extensive list! It was smaller than Common Loon. Smaller bill. Note the well-defined border of the nape compared to the white throat.

Dude this bird was sick! Definitely one of my favorite birds on my Maricopa List, great find, again, Josh!
