Field Notes

Notes:

Discovered outside in 13°C temperature in Fresno, California, USA. I am uncertain if this moth is a Silver striped Hawk Moth, however the moth I found looked closest to the body shape and color of the Hippotion celerio species. I found it alive and barely moving, so I placed it in a large open container with a towel to lay on instead of my home's cold cement steps. It started to try and fly about ten minutes later and with some difficulty was able to fly away.
