Field Notes

Description:

Pale with numerous red-brown bands of varying width; whitish translucent fan-like pectoral fins with a few large spots and long filamentous rays.

Habitat:

Solitary or form small groups in caves and crevices.
Coastal lagoon and outer reefs up to 50 meters depth.
Found in the tropical Indian and Western Pacific Oceans.
