Description:

Very large about 30 mm blue-black wasp with orange antennae; Abdomen crescent-shaped, flattened, and strongly bent downward; don't sting

Habitat:

found on grape vines on edge of woods

Notes:

resemble spider wasps (Pompilidae) who do sting or Tarantula hawk wasp (Pepsis menechma)
