Field Notes

Description:

Spike-like, about 10 cm long; smooth light olive green cap with small hole of the tip with white rim; stalk slimy dark olive brown going down about 3 cm from top of cap then yellowish/white the rest of the way down and about 2 cm wide; comes out of white "egg" - see my spotting called "Witches Egg"

Habitat:

growing gregariously in our old rotting woodchip mulch pile
