Bracket Fungi
Phylum Basidiomycota
1.42549, 103.774
Field Notes
Description:
This fungi was about 4-5 inches wide and 3 inches in length. It was a stunning white color and had some moss growing on it. The edges of the fungi were a bit rigid. It seems like it is one big mushroom with several smaller ones growing on it. The center of the fungi caved in and had multiple brown colored rings inside.
Habitat:
I found this fungi in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. This fungi was growing on the side of a fallen log and it was very near to the forest floor. The climate there was sunny, but the area this fungi was in was partially shady, with some sunlight streaming through.
Notes:
I think this fungi has already grown on this fallen log for quite some time already, because in order for moss to grow on it, it has to take quite a while and the area has to be of high humidity.
