Field Notes

Description:

I was amazed by all of these pelicans flying by in long lines to help with aerodynamics, just like geese flying in a v formation. This was one of the longer lines I saw, there were at least 100 pelicans. They have a brown body, white neck, and yellow head with a large bill.

Habitat:

Found on the coast in the Americas, and it is not uncommon to see them further inland as well.
