Description:
A wildflower in the lily family that is also known as glacier lily and is one of the first wildflowers to come out after the snow has melted (at least here in the pacific northwest). There are six narrow lemon yellow petals that curve upward with white anthers.
Habitat:
Spotted in a open conifer forest.
Notes:
The flower is pollinated by bumblebees and other bees. The bulbs are an important and preferred food of the grizzly bear. Mule deer readily eat the foliage.
