Field Notes

Description:

This moth is a good size, about 3 inches. The average between 2.5 & 3.5 inches. They don’t have a lot of color, just a dark olive-brown fore-wings with pale tan stripes from tip to base and white veins.

Habitat:

These moths are active both day and night and are attracted to lights. The moth I found was at the back porch light and feeding at some flowers at 10 pm. The weather was still cool in the evening but not cold.

Notes:

The picture of the flying moth was taken about 10:00 pm. I just happen to see something flying outside my window and was lucky enough to get a picture before it flew away.
