Description:

The following info is from Species Callophrys gryneus - Juniper Hairstreak http://bugguide.net/node/view/3030 - AKA Cedar Hairstreak, Olive Hairstreak - 27-32 mm

Habitat:

Range most of United States, southern Canada - Habitat semi-open areas with hostplant (Juniperus, etc.) - Season summer, two broods, typically June-August - Adults take nectar.

Notes:

This hairstreak butterfly had a lot more green with the naked eye. I could only get the camera to see it while on Super Macro.
